Sweet .You are the man . biggrin.png Xj220 has a great set of lights in the staff section .Unless you are look for slicktop lights .I can help you wink.png

I will be looking for an arjent lightbar to throw on top. I only saw the one made by porschemd11gt though which is a bit too poly heavy for nfshs.

Posted by: NFS Police Force Jul 16 2016, 01:26 PM
I think xj220 has that in his pack .If not I can work something out .

Posted by: NFS Police Force Jul 16 2016, 01:59 PM
Found it .It in xj220 files . wink.png

Posted by: BrabusAMG Jul 17 2016, 01:48 AM
I've just noticed that it would be easy to make a white one with red lights as well; since the mapping is the same.

Posted by: XJ220 Jul 17 2016, 02:00 AM
Wow. I like it. A lot!

Posted by: BoxCarRacer Jul 17 2016, 09:27 AM
Thanks, I found and used used XJ220's arjent with some adjustments!

Does anyone know how to fix the problem where you can see right through the lightbar? For example, if you look through the lense, instead of seeing the roof of the car, you see the road.

Otherwise, car is pretty much done and I just need to tweak the lights

Polygon hierarchy. Detach the transparent polygons, make sure they're below the original part in the list and join them to the part again.

Technical stuff: The parts behind have to have been drawn/rasterized already when it's the clear part's turn, otherwise they'll fail the depth test and not be drawn.

That's a coincidence; I'm working on a Durham Regional Police 1988 Caprice for HP2.

The Impala looks great! The Charger drives well, too. Would you mind terribly if I made a white version from it? I like both OPP liveries and we really need more Canadian cars on this site. Keep up your great work!

Thank you!

I spend a lot of time and work really hard to custom prep the textures. I do my best to make them high resolution and to get rid of any shading before I resize them.

Then, The challenge is managing the limited texture space and trying find creative ways to make things fit. I'm always shifting and relocating textures as the car progresses so it's pretty time consuming, and at times, frustrating!

The 256x256 dimensions is super annoying and it forces you to make compromises in the detailing of the police markings. In the end, as long as the quality of the textures is similar across the car, it usually turns out looking all right smile.png

I'm glad people like what I'm producing and thankful for people like you, who provide the bases to work on biggrin.png

Cool! Will have a lightbar? The one that Durham uses is a Canadian-made D&R PL-46 Prowler, which we don't have. I was thinking of making one, but it might take me a while. I guess I could try.

Nice David and you could redo your NYPD Lumina that you made out of Nils conversion of Serge's Hot Pursuit 2 Lumina 9C3 to High Stakes. Also be sure to change the interior trim from brown to silver since only the 2006 9C1s & 9C3s have those while starting in 2007 they have silver trim as found in the 2006-2009 Impala SS.

Much better with the interior speaking of Impalas do you plan to redo your older cars that you made out of Serge's older cars like the 00-05 Impalas for example they were updated by Nils, even Serge's old Intrepid was updated by Nils too.

Nahh. I don't plan on redoing any of them. I've never really liked that generation of Impalas anyways lol.

Once it's released you can get it with CarCad tongue.png. It looks identical to what DQMPD uses so I'd say it's accurate to a actual model though I don't know the brand we're using at my city.

@BoxCarRacer: The lightbar looks pretty good to me. Maybe I can put my version on hold for now (I can work on a Spectra instead). I've already made some PL-46 textures; I can send them to you if you want.

sure post it up here.

I based my texture off of this:

http://www.responderpse.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/r/prowler-pl-22a-angled-top.jpg

Posted by: BrabusAMG Jul 27 2016, 06:34 PM
Now that I've looked at a close-up of the real thing, I guess my version would be redundant (good thing I haven't started on it). I made a texture based on that too (not a very good one), but I also made one based on their ION LEDs (I think that's what they're called). That's the type I've noticed in the car pics.

The textures are small, but that leaves more space for other things. The takedowns are also square on the PL-46. http://nfspolicehq.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=686 with bigger pics.

Posted by: XJ220 Jul 31 2016, 03:37 AM
Problem is, I have no idea how this works on ATI/AMD gfx cards, though I am sure there IS a way.

As for Nvidia products. Right-click your desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel. On the left choose 'Manage 3D setups' (or something along those lines, I am translating from the German driver).

Choose the 'Program settings' tab. Add 'nfshs.exe'. Then configure 'Antialiasing - Mode' > 'Override any application settings' and then 'Antialiasing - Setting' > your choice. 2x, 4x...

Looks great! I have almost finished the new Excalibur base, so you can have a new lightbar biggrin.png.

I'm assuming you want red and blue lights, would that be right? For the config (as seen from the front), would you like BBRR or RBRR? I've seen both on pictures and videos.

Question ,Why don't Canada hardly ever put spotlights on the windshield of emergency vehicles? huh.png Just a thing I noticed, that seems to be the norm in America but Canada hardly ever has them, I guess maybe hand held rechargables are more popular there?

Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 12 2016, 05:05 PM
The lightbar should be easy to create using Nils's Edge base. I'm currently doing modifications to it to make various configurations. It's fairly easy. All you'd need are the textures, which I think I have. That photo is a good texture source too wink.png.

@ Paul: Spotlights aren't used here either. We use torches (you call them flashlights).

Posted by: XJ220 Aug 13 2016, 02:49 AM
I don't think such a lightbar can seriously challenge BoxCarRacer ^^

Spotlights aren't too common in Europe, either. With the exception of Belgian police who add them on top of their lightbars. Perhaps it's just darker in the US so you need more artificial light there? biggrin.png

Great base Nils!!

One thing I noticed when gathering pictures is that the placement of the decals on these Tahoes vary slightly from vehicle to vehicle.

Oh and Toronto hosted the 2015 Pan Am Games so I decided to add that decal to the vehicle too!

Maybe in Moosonee or Moose Factory (yes, they are real places), but not in Toronto I don't think laugh.png (and by the way, the plural is "moose").
