ok so I ahve a few questions regaurding need for sped HS I am an expert on HP but on HS I am... meh.
alright here we go! 1. where do you put the save file for the game I can get a save file and have a few old ones on my pc but....where do you put the files? a video link? a path anything! 2. installing the game I installed NFS HS on my gateway pc here are some basic specs. (its not my normal rig just something thats small and great for old games and emulators) 1tb western digital hard drive 4gb of DDR3 memory a 64 bit x86 AMD quad core Windows 8.1 and I am running all my video off the cpu's Redeon HD graphics. now to the problem I installed the game the CD gets Identified but it still says please insert CD I have the game installed so its not the whole 64 bit crap but ... I did install alot of the cars from this site and I mean alot but just as selectable cars not as actual replacements. anyways when it doesn't ask me for the cd nothing happens any recomendations I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. thanks, Sam -------------------- (Insert awesome signature here)

You can't add a lot of cars . You can only have less then 30 cars at a time . If you have tones of cars the game will crash . Take some cars out and try to start the game agin .

I'm not sure about the save files, but your PC has better specs than my 5-year-old laptop (which will eventually be replaced). That's 64-bit. For some reason, it couldn't install HS on anything but minimum installation, which means I can't install any mods or replacements. That's okay, because I have an older 32-bit desktop, which is what I use for most of my modding.
Have any other older games worked on that PC? My laptop also can't take NFS2 or HP, so that's why I'm asking. I can't say for sure what you're PC's problem is, but I can tell you that HS can only handle 50 cars installed at any one time. HS has 21 cars, so you can install 29 mods plus any replacements for the standard cars. How many did you install? -------------------- |

I only had like 10-15 anyways I don't know about need for speed 2 but you can you a virtual desktop like oracle virtual box to run need for speed 3 I would recommend XP but you pick an easier way is to use need for speed 3 modern edition patch but make sure you set the language to English or it will install in German you need the CD to install (which I have) but I think you can run it off an ISO to the nice thing is once its installed you don't need the CD to run it and you can select the option to add the extra cars like traffic and unassailable police cars (they handle like crap but if you select an opponent thats traffic it is fun) I will attach it in the next post as my mac does not like when I put it in the same forum that I wright in.
Cheers, Sam EDIT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I cant post RAR files here so I will get it from the pc and post it tomorrow RE EDIT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ you can get it from here I also have a nfs III x64 patch on my desktop and a and a patch I made (which I am not giving out I am afraid) I will see if I can get the x64 out though https://rejzor.wordpress.com/nfs3-patch/ there is the modern edition one. -------------------- (Insert awesome signature here)

That's okay; NFS2 and HP are installed on my desktop anyway. They work fine, because the desktop runs Windows XP 32-bit.
About HS: since you don't have very many add-ons installed, that can't be the problem. I don't have any ideas, I'm afraid. -------------------- |

Does your PC have more than one optical drive (CD / DVD / Blu-Ray) ?
If I recall correctly, HS has problems with multiple drives and will only start if the disc is in the drive with the lowest letter. -------------------- |

nope I remember my old XP had two drive and if one didn't work I put it in the other but I never gave it enough time so I would keep taking it out and put it in the other before it had time to read and I would always get so mad!

Nils the 4.50 patch don't support custom cars though, Only in game cars unfortunatly, that's why I don't use it. I use Jim Diablo's fixes in the Stock Packs. -------------------- I'm 10-80..All units 10-0!
Enjoying this car very much :D |
