Have you any problems with converting police cars to NFS Carbon? Read this:

First of all, we are starting with meshes (link.txt)

Important meshes for cop cars:
QUOTE
BASE_A (This is the most important mesh for cop car, which saves mount points and can be shown. You can change name of Interior mesh of car to base_a.)
KIT00_DRIVER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_BODY_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_BODY_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_COP_LIGHTS_A (Not important for undercover cars)
KIT00_DAMAGE1_COP_LIGHTS_A (Not important for undercover cars)
KIT00_DAMAGE0_FRONT_WINDOW_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_FRONT_WINDOW_A
KIT00_FRONT_TIRE_A
KIT00_FRONT_BRAKE_A
KIT00_REAR_BRAKE_A

DAMAGE0: Undamaged Mesh
DAMAGE1: Damaged Mesh

Example:
KIT00_DAMAGE0_FRONT_BUMPER_A is a undamaged mesh. When you knocking to front bumper, mesh of KIT00_DAMAGE1_FRONT_BUMPER_A displays, instead.

Non-important meshes for cop car: (If all meshes attached with together, It's okay, like CSR Racing models. but If meshes of a model are apart, you MUST NOT ignore them, like Test Drive Unlimited models.)

QUOTE

KIT00_DAMAGE0_SPOILER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_SPOILER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_TRUNK_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_TRUNK_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_FRONT_BUMPER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_FRONT_BUMPER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_REAR_BUMPER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_REAR_BUMPER_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_LEFT_BRAKELIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_LEFT_BRAKELIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_LEFT_HEADLIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_LEFT_HEADLIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_RIGHT_BRAKELIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_RIGHT_BRAKELIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_RIGHT_HEADLIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_RIGHT_HEADLIGHT_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_LEFT_DOOR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_LEFT_DOOR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_RIGHT_DOOR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_RIGHT_DOOR_A

If your car is sedan, use these, too:
QUOTE
KIT00_DAMAGE0_LEFT_DOOR_REAR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_LEFT_DOOR_REAR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE0_RIGHT_DOOR_REAR_A
KIT00_DAMAGE1_RIGHT_DOOR_REAR_A

Now what do you want to replace?
QUOTE

Civic Cruiser: COPMIDSIZE
Civic Undercover Cruiser: COPGHOST
State Pursuit Vehicle: COPGTO
State Undercover Vehicle: COPGTOGHOST
Federal Pursuit Vehicle: COPSPORTHENCH
Federal Undercover Vehicle: COPSPORTGHOST:
Cross Corvette C6: COPSPORT
SUV Light: COPSUVL
SUV Heavy: COPSUV

Example: If you're going to replace your car with Cross Car, just add COPSPORT_ word, before name of all meshes: COPSPORT_BASE_A

QUOTE ("Eclipse 72rus")

0 and 1 values in link.txt:
0 and 1 for copying mount points to linking parts
0 - mount points not copied
1 - mount points copied

and if you need sources of police car, you can find it here:
click download

Good! Now a little note about matlist.txt:

In matlist.txt, you MUST type the full name of texture in TEXTURES.BIN, not %_ !
Wrong example: ALUMINUM (Tabs) ALUMINUM (Tabs) %_MISC
Correct example: ALUMINUM (Tabs) ALUMINUM (Tabs) COPSPORT_MISC

IMPORTANT: Don't forget to adding this command in matlist.txt, because geometry compiler might stopped working:
QUOTE
Default Material (Tabs) DEFAULT (Tabs) (a fake name)

Alright, this article relates to mount points (mpoints.txt)

Here is mount points for cop cars:
QUOTE
_LEFT_BRAKELIGHT00
_LEFT_REVERSE00
_LEFT_EXHAUST00
_LEFT_HEADLIGHT00
_RIGHT_BRAKELIGHT00
_RIGHT_REVERSE00
_RIGHT_EXHAUST00 (May not working)
_RIGHT_HEADLIGHT00
_COPLIGHTRED00
_COPLIGHTWHITE00
_COPLIGHTBLUE00

IMPORTANT: If _RIGHT_EXHAUST00 doesn't work, use _LEFT_EXHAUST00

QUOTE (Eclipse 72rus)
_EXHAUST00 would be correctly, _LEFT_EXHAUST and _EXHAUST_AS used for attaching custom exhaust pipes to autosculpt bumpers.

About Rotation:
1-If the mount point is in car back, set 0.0 -90.0 0.0
QUOTE
_LEFT_BRAKELIGHT01 (Tabs) 0.0 -90.0 0.0 (Tabs) COPSPORT_KIT00_DAMAGE0_LEFT_BRAKELIGHT_A

2-If the mount point is in car middle/top, set 0.0 0.0 0.0
QUOTE
_COPLIGHTRED00 (Tabs) 0.0 0.0 0.0 (Tabs) COPSPORT_KIT00_DAMAGE0_COP_LIGHTS_A

3-If the mount point is in car front set 0.0 90.0 0.0
QUOTE
_COPLIGHTWHITE03 (If it's in headlight) (Tabs) 0.0 90.0 0.0 (Tabs) COPSPORT_BASE_A

About geometry part names:
Use full-name of meshes:
Wrong example: _COPLIGHTRED03 (Tabs) 0.0 0.0 0.0 (Tabs) BASE_A
Correct example:_COPLIGHTRED03 (Tabs) 0.0 0.0 0.0 (Tabs) COPSPORT_BASE_A

Time to compile!
NFS Carbon mod tools can support Old .z3d files, so you don't need to exporting it as .obj file. In the case, just export the model as Old .z3d (If you are in ZModeler). That's all and you don't need ZModeler 1, anymore! Now run geometry compiler and in replacement list, set empty and select your model and End!

Did I any mistakes? Have I forgotten some notes? Any questions? Tell us, please! smile.png

Special thanks to: Tails andEclipse 72rus and Porsche 4ever for their helps! wink.png

MNaeemi777 welcome to the boards I moved your thread to the correct forum as it doesn't belong the NFS Car Editing section plus its similar to modding for Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
