So after unveiling the new grey vehicles last year, there were a lot of complaints from the public about how the colour change resembled a "militarization" of the police service and made the cars less visible to the public eye.
They cancelled the design change due to all the complaints and conducted a public consultation on what elements people felt were important in the police markings/design. The final outcome is this piece of crap as seen below lol. Looks so ugly and boring for such a large and diverse city we have. I am disappointed. Maybe they should've let me design the new livery =P News article: http://www.cp24.com/news/toronto-police-un...tions-1.3554167 -------------------- |

Wow, that is super boring. But hey, at least it's grey and white; not black and white like the new Halton Regional Police livery, which was a huge step down from the pretty design they had a few years ago.
That car definitely needs more colour to make it stand out. While I was writing this, I only just noticed that they kept the old thing on the doors; just in stealth reflective markings rather than red and blue. It looks a bit like a road to me; maybe they should keep it for the highway units . I have recently been thinking of several liveries I could design; maybe I should start a business ... EDIT: By the way, does anyone know where I can get an image of the Metropolitan Toronto Police logo? I mean a computerised image; there are plenty available for the current logo, but I can't find any for the old one . I think that's rather weird, since the old logo is exactly like the current one, just with the word "Metropolitan" added. I try to avoid getting logos from car pictures if I can, because the quality won't be as good. -------------------- |

Your best bet might be to just edit one to Metro Police, Or There was a badge selling on Ebay a while back I nabbed pics of, It's basically the logo afixed to a large round badge, I think it was advertising them. -------------------- I'm 10-80..All units 10-0!

I might have something you can use. I'm at work so it'll have to wait until I get on my home computer. The old logo was definitely difficult to find but I managed to find a decent picture a while back Back on topic. I think the car would look decent if they kept the red and blue "swooshes". Everything is black white and grey making the coloured TPS logo look out of place. -------------------- |

(RANT WARNING)
Ok, So here is where I am at I am sick and tired of the Government and the TPS bending whenever people say they do something wrong. a good example is this but another one is the G20 riots. some people have ligitamate problems with the TPS it get overshadowed by the people throwing fits and crying wolf. I say go with the black scheme and when people say "Militarization" or "This is how Police States Start" then they should reply with "To bad it looks cool." -------------------- (Insert awesome signature here)

I don't know why they changed anyway, The white cars with red/blue stripes looks nice, Why change? I go by If it ain't broke don't fix it! I guess they got cash strapped or something, Which if that's the case ISP can teach them about cash saving scheme, Simply put the dept. emblem on the front doors and POLICE on the back of the car, Leave the car white (or what ever it is when bought) Yup that's what they been doing here except it's STATE POLICE on the back although they also reintroduced the gold stripe on some. -------------------- I'm 10-80..All units 10-0!
