I guess I'll make a request here!
I'd love a 1989-1991 CHP LTD for High Stakes: Should be easy enough; y'all already have a fairly accurate lighting setup and paintjob from this Dodge Diplomat:All you'd need to do is add the amber lights on the Jetstream. (and of course, get it on an LTD) I'd do it myself, but by the time I figured out what all to do and debug all the programs to let me work, I'd probably be the last person to still be playing High Stakes. Thanks ahead of time! |

Welcome to the site!
I'm sure someone could do this, but I've been looking for an LTD base myself. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have one. Several LTDs have been made for HP2 using a very good base, so I'll see if anyone can convert that car to HS. -------------------- |

Welcome to the site! @ Max I doubt that converting the HP2 base is the best bet. Somebody from stuff has to have the HS LTD Dodge Boy created ages ago. We'll find it, I am sure I actually found a CHP LTD I downloaded years ago. But it's a slicktop and pretty high-poly (more than 11k)... If all else fails, one could probably modify that one and turn it into a fully marked unit. -------------------- |

I hope we can find a good one. I prefer my bases to be under 4000 polies including any equipment I put on.
I would also like to get the 1987 LTD base that is used for a few vehicles here. I have plans that involve LTDs but I don't have the cars. I'm quite surprised that there isn't a CHP LTD on this site, since we have 41 CHP vehicles. By the way, the lightbar is actually a JetSonic. -------------------- |

Thanks all!
As for a base, I found this on NFSAddons when I was digging for some cars -would this work? |

Not only would it work; it looks like the same base that was used to make those HP2 cars!
Norton Antivirus will hate me forever if I try to download it, though, because there are two trojan viruses in the Most Wanted Tools section of NFS Addons. It tries its best to stop me looking at any part of the site. -------------------- |

That's Dodge Boy's LTD and indeed the base that has been used for all HS Police LTDs you'll find.

So, anyone willing to do it? I just love the old LTDs and would appreciate if someone could make this.
I planned on doing myself but I don't really know where to start. |

Thanks for uploading the file to the site, Chris ! Now I can make my LTD projects! What's its poly count?
I love the old LTDs too; I wouldn't mind a real one. There are several State Police LTDs that I want to make. I already have another project in the queue and the CHP was not on my list, but I'll gladly make it if no-one else can. I already have most of the necessary parts anyway and my next project shouldn't take too long. I took a look at the texture file; it's similar to the original HS format (it is an old mod after all); so it will be a bit more challenging. I'll try to figure it out whilst I work on my next car. Good thing the badges are only on the sides (except for the HP lettering on the back); that should make it easier. -------------------- |

I wonder if Louis will re-make this car one day, like the others he's been doing.
The poly count of the LTD is 4700+, so it will never be a traffic replacement . The lightbar and other equipment will probably take it over 5000, so I'm worried it might not work too well on some tracks. -------------------- |

Well, there are two rather easy measures you could give a try:
a) replacing the driver with EA's standard mesh b) removing the undercarriage -------------------- |

For some high poly cars (still no guarentee they can be traffic cops though) you can also try modding the wheels to 40 poly ones like I do and take the "guts" out of lightbars and instead pic texture them using real pics to get a fairly decent result.

Enjoying this car very much :D |
