About time for some progress. Steelies are done! 1128 polygons per wheel. Version with hubcaps has slightly more at 1192. Complete car now contains about 13800. What was the reasonable limit for an HP2 base again? I think this count is okay anyway wink.png

The different colors of the body mark the resp. areas on the texture. Anything that's not yellow has a separate section and manually unwrapped mapping (at least to some degree, the sides will still need much adjustment for your projects).

Next up is the interior.

@ Louis: Could I send you the model in its current state for some first in-game testing? Especially the specularity map will need some work, I suppose. Also, I want to check for any errors in the model before starting the interior.

Nils my copy of Hot Pursuit 2 doesn't work at all for that you would need to send it to Chris for ingame testing plus I will focus on the MW version all of my NFS HS projects were just to hold me over until you got this car ready.

You can still send me the model so I can refine it for Most Wanted (2005) specs as well.

Nils for the Most Wanted spec the polies will be a bit higher like I will add the door handles from Forza Motorsport 4's Pontiac G8 due to the fact the VE/VF Commodores & the WM/WN Caprices use the same door handles & mirrors on their doors.

@ Police 911 & ahmad: Thanks guys.

@ Louis: Completely your call.

@ Everybody reading this: Have you seen a Caprice PPV with beauty/trim rings? Couldn't find a picture, yet. Why doesn't ISP have Caprices? ^^

The ISP does have Caprices Paul himself confirmed this, & I don't know what trim rings haven't appeared on them maybe because 3rd party companies haven't made them yet for the Caprices, Chargers, or the Police Interceptors plus I'm not a huge fan of those rings no offense.

Yeah in the meantime I too realized that ISP has Caprices. Though they're pretty lame. No trim rings and no scheme to speak of. I actually remembered Paul's posts about them when I saw those cars again. Seems that trim rings have come out of style. I personally like them very much, but when they're not available anymore, then so be it.

By the way it seems they're available for the Charger, at least the pre-facelift gen: Link. Probably because the rims are those of the Intrepid if I'm not mistaken. But then again this is the only Charger I came across with rings so they may be custom-made.

As for the HD Caprice:
It's not forgotten. The detailed interior just takes much longer than the simplified ones for HS I am used to so the WIP model is nothing to show here – yet. I hope to bring it into a presentable shape within the next days. Unless Louis needs another set of wheels for one of his projects tongue.png

Well the set of wheels, etc for my projects can wait until you finish this HD Caprice interior in fact I'm I'm covered for now. BTW here are the Level of Details wheels for the HD Caprice kit for MW. I modified your wheels to have inner walls as well as made Alpha channel textures for the holes on the rims for B through D while A uses the 3D ones especially the wheel covers its similar to how Serge made his old 00-05 Impalas with the 3D rims combined with the steel rims with the center cap removed.

What I meant by Charger was the 2nd generation sedan not the 1st generation plus Serge did also add those as an option when he made his first HD 2nd generation Crown Victoria bases 10 years ago.

Did the wheels change at all when it was facelifted? Don't notice a difference.

By the way LOD D is pretty brutal ^^ Ever thought about using a masked circle texture instead like in the older NFS titles?

The wheels look the same to me the wheel covers do too but the only that did change was the logo on it.

No because I think since Underground LOD D wheels have been that way look here at the GTO's LOD D as an example I made it from scratch based on the design of the wheel.
