alright so another post. Yay me for spamming the forums with stupid questions!
so has anyone got any videos or posts that go step by step for editing cars for NFS from the software to the basics to advanced and not just editing cars but car stats and anything else you might want to know. I really want to get into car editing I know it wont be a one day thing but I need a hobby that doesn't cost a lot of money. Thanks, Sam -------------------- (Insert awesome signature here)

Although I only started "making" cars a few months ago, I started doing minor editing several years ago, so I had a head-start.
The programme to use for that sort of thing is NFS Wizard. It can open the VIV files and export what's inside. Some files can only be edited in NFS Wizard, so there are some files that you don't need to export. I used NFS Wizard for editing the game's sirens. There are 5 siren tones in the game, which can be replaced with Wave files (.wav; 22050 Hz; mono). The files have to have those parameters. The last siren tone (called Sample 5; the German tone) can't be too long. If you like, I can send you some of my siren tones so you can try (I have lots). I'm not sure where to get NFS Wizard (it was a long time ago; I think it was nfscars.net). Another good tool would be FCE Finish. One of its features is Dummy editing (the car's emergency lights are called Dummies; don't ask me why ). The file that contains the model's information is the car.fce, which can be exported/imported with NFS Wizard. The TGA files contain the car's textures (car00.tga etc). I think it's a good idea to leave texture editing for another day, but I would export one along with the car.fce if you want to edit the car in FCE Finish. The textures are a good reference. Sing out if you need any help or clarification . -------------------- |
