I was wondering if it's possible to use music files in your library and move them into NFSHS directory so that you can use the music in game. For example what I want to do is, I have all the Need For Speed Hot Pursuit III soundtrack and I want to know If I can move the files into the Music folder of NFSHS and be able to use the soundtrack in game instead of burning the songs to a disc (No empty discs for this). If someone can shed some light on this it'd be appreciated! biggrin.png

I think I read about it some time ago, though it had limitations. The replacement songs had to be of the same length as the original ones and the conversion was rather complicated. I'd suggest you use your favorite music player in the background and then just run the game. That's what I do. Burning discs is so old-school wink.png

And welcome!

Thanks for the welcomes biggrin.png. Now I would use my music player to do just that but once I Alt- Tab out of game for example if I wanted to change a song I can't because when I try to reopen the game the screen is all black but everything is playing as it should just with no visuals I assume it would be a resolution problem but i'm not sure i've had similar problems like this on Starship Troopers (PC) but was able to fix it changing resolutions. I also know that the audio files in game or compiled weirdly (in Windows Media format or something can't check at school atm.) But if there is a way to do it look into it and ill give a whack at it if not i'll just look around for any discs to burn on (yes it is old school lol.)

I believe it's a Express Family Chipset, or something of that name and nature (crappy card is what im getting at here lol.) I have a 2001<-- (I think) Toshiba Labtop. I also always run the game in Admin mode and i'm also running in compatibility mode with Windows 7 as im trying to make the game run a bit smoother. It runs fine but everything is on lowest settings.

Just remembered disable Desktop Composition is also on.

NFS High Stakes generally does not support ALT+TAB or minimizing of its window.

Why not just create a proper playlist in your music player? I don't think you can easily select a different song when using a CD, either. And even if you had your music available in game, if I'm not mistaken the only place to select a different song would be the main configuration menu giving you little additional flexibility.

Actually that has already been done this conversion of the NFS III soundtrack can be found at NFSCars. Well the menu music actually but the author explains how to he did it and you can do it as well.

Interesting. Good we have someone who knows NFSCars uploads inside out wink.png

I just tried to remember what I read years ago in the forums. Seems my memory is faulty biggrin.png Though I personally would still prefer using a music player in the background.
