|NFS Police H.Q. Forums > Request forums > '91 CHP LTD|
|Posted by: Unit217 Feb 14 2016, 01:27 PM|
| I guess I'll make a request here!
I'd love a 1989-1991 CHP LTD for High Stakes:
Should be easy enough; y'all already have a fairly accurate lighting setup and paintjob from this http://nfspolicehq.com/images/nfs4_85diplomat-CHP.jpg:All you'd need to do is add the amber lights on the Jetstream. (and of course, get it on an LTD)
I'd do it myself, but by the time I figured out what all to do and debug all the programs to let me work, I'd probably be the last person to still be playing High Stakes.
Thanks ahead of time!

| Welcome to the site!
I'm sure someone could do this, but I've been looking for an LTD base myself. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have one. Several LTDs have been made for HP2 using a very good base, so I'll see if anyone can convert that car to HS.

| @ Unit217
Welcome to the site!
I doubt that converting the HP2 base is the best bet. Somebody from stuff has to have the HS LTD Dodge Boy created ages ago. We'll find it, I am sure
I actually found a CHP LTD I downloaded years ago. But it's a slicktop and pretty high-poly (more than 11k)...
If all else fails, one could probably modify that one and turn it into a fully marked unit.

| I hope we can find a good one. I prefer my bases to be under 4000 polies including any equipment I put on.
I would also like to get the 1987 LTD base that is used for a few vehicles here. I have plans that involve LTDs but I don't have the cars.
I'm quite surprised that there isn't a CHP LTD on this site, since we have 41 CHP vehicles.
By the way, the lightbar is actually a JetSonic.

| Thanks all!
As for a base, I found this on NFSAddons when I was digging for some cars -http://www.nfsaddons.com/nfshs/cars/Ford/1537/
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Feb 15 2016, 05:33 AM|
| Not only would it work; it looks like the same base that was used to make those HP2 cars!
Norton Antivirus will hate me forever if I try to download it, though, because there are two trojan viruses in the Most Wanted Tools section of NFS Addons. It tries its best to stop me looking at any part of the site.

|That's Dodge Boy's LTD and indeed the base that has been used for all HS Police LTDs you'll find.|

|Welcome to the site .Wow I did not see that I will have to post that on our site . It is dodge boys cars .Good find .|
|Posted by: Unit217 Feb 15 2016, 03:54 PM|
| So, anyone willing to do it? I just love the old LTDs and would appreciate if someone could make this.
I planned on doing myself but I don't really know where to start.
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Feb 15 2016, 05:37 PM|
| Thanks for uploading the file to the site, Chris ! Now I can make my LTD projects! What's its poly count?
I love the old LTDs too; I wouldn't mind a real one. There are several State Police LTDs that I want to make. I already have another project in the queue and the CHP was not on my list, but I'll gladly make it if no-one else can. I already have most of the necessary parts anyway and my next project shouldn't take too long.
I took a look at the texture file; it's similar to the original HS format (it is an old mod after all); so it will be a bit more challenging. I'll try to figure it out whilst I work on my next car. Good thing the badges are only on the sides (except for the HP lettering on the back); that should make it easier.

| Sweet, thanks!
If you need more photos I'll be happy to provide 'em!

|Not a problem if you need other cars uploaded let me know .That what I am here for .|

| I wonder if Louis will re-make this car one day, like the others he's been doing.
The poly count of the LTD is 4700+, so it will never be a traffic replacement . The lightbar and other equipment will probably take it over 5000, so I'm worried it might not work too well on some tracks.

|Well, there are two rather easy measures you could give a try:
a) replacing the driver with EA's standard mesh
b) removing the undercarriage
|Posted by: Paul Spain Feb 25 2016, 08:19 PM|
|For some high poly cars (still no guarentee they can be traffic cops though) you can also try modding the wheels to 40 poly ones like I do and take the "guts" out of lightbars and instead pic texture them using real pics to get a fairly decent result.|

|Good news: I have just finished modifying a JetSonic and Louis is currently re-making that LTD base. I'm pretty sure we have that nudge bar. This case is still open!|

Its finished now Max and Unit217 you asked for this car and this car you will get.
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 4 2016, 11:55 PM|
| I just thought I'd let you know, I have now started on this car .
EDIT: The model is finished, now I'm just finishing the mapping.
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 7 2016, 10:50 PM|
|It's finished! Well, it's in the Beta stage; I'm just making sure that everything is correct.|
|Posted by: CVPI19 Aug 8 2016, 09:14 AM|
Max the 91 LTD doesn't have those Amber lenses that's not correct the ones I put on 1991 are clear and accurate to that year only 88-90 had those please change those before releasing this ok?
|Posted by: XJ220 Aug 8 2016, 10:37 AM|
| The original post says "I'd love a 1989-1991 CHP LTD for High Stakes", so unless Max labels his cruiser as a '91 LTD, it should be fine
Unlike the CHP door decal, as far as I can tell (why such a stamp-sized screenshot, anyway?). The state seal is supposed to be black/gold, looks like you're using the post... 1997 or so full-color version.
|Posted by: CVPI19 Aug 8 2016, 12:05 PM|
Nils I know the difference between 88-91, 88-90 had Amber lens on the headlights with clear bulbs while 1991 had clear lens with Amber bulbs and also 1991 also lacks the black bits on the rear and front bumpers that 1988-1990 had too.

| The car00.tga for 1991 is missing from the folder. I definitely used the 1991 Z3D, but the latest TGA I can find is the one for 1990.
Anyway, here's a bigger screenshot. The poly count is 4721.
|Posted by: CVPI19 Aug 8 2016, 08:02 PM|
I can send you the TGA for 1991 and fix the file.
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 8 2016, 10:23 PM|
|Fix applied. I'll submit a new in-game screenshot after more testing.|
|Posted by: CVPI19 Aug 9 2016, 07:30 AM|
Hey Max I can apply a accurate CHP driver and damage if you need damage for your car let me know drop me a pm or a message in my e-mail.
|Posted by: XJ220 Aug 9 2016, 09:59 AM|
So? It could still just be a 1990 LTD, would fit within the range originally specified by the request. Wouldn't it?
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 9 2016, 05:52 PM|
| @ Louis: Sounds good!
@ Nils: I used the Z3D for 1991; it just had the wrong texture file at first. That problem has been fixed. Besides, those pictures were of a '91 LTD.
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 10 2016, 09:45 PM|
| The car is finished and uploaded! Louis also took some pictures for me when he was fixing it.
The final version also features the Californian steady-burn and rear flashing lights on the JetSonic.
|Posted by: XJ220 Aug 11 2016, 10:27 AM|
| The car looks great to me!
The vidwall, though... why do people ignore aspect ratios? Does the car on the photo or the Ford logo look right to you this way?
|Posted by: BrabusAMG Aug 11 2016, 06:19 PM|
|Not really, but I didn't make it. It's been uploaded now, anyway; just waiting for final clearance.|

It's because it's the best I can do I size the picture to the correct size and this is my style I like it this way. It's not perfect but it's all I can do Nils.
|Posted by: XJ220 Aug 13 2016, 05:52 AM|
|You're selling yourself short here. The photo provided is excellent for the easy creation of a vidwall with correct aspect-ratio. Simply scale the width to what vidwalls need with the 'maintain aspect-ratio' option ticked, then cut the top portion off. Voilą.|
